FAKE MIRACLE CAMPAIGNS

EXPOSED BY THEIR OWN SCHEMES!

JAN LILLEBY

I have written several articles, even books, on these infamous faith-healers; people like William Branham, Oral Roberts, T.L. Osborn, Jack Coe, John Lake, and several of our days followers of these early ‘healers’ from the 1950-ies and sixties…Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, W.V. Grant Jr., and the lot. An endless list of charlatans and frauds what concerns miracle healings and wonders.

As I went on the internet and studied many of the photos taken in some of these campaigns – you know, rows of sick and disabled people sitting up front in their wheel chairs, and those who lay on stretchers – all hoping for a miracle of God, like the miracles we learn from Acts.

If you go on the web site of T.L. Osborn, Osborn.org – you will find the site named Osborn Ministries International. And they have a file of old photos taken in the many crusades he held while alive. Osborn died in 2013.

I chose however, a photo from one of the campaigns with William Branham – showing a typical scenario, where you find two rows of sick people waiting for their ‘miracle’. They lie on their stretchers or sit in their wheel chairs; right up-front below the stage…for all to view. See photo above.

It all looks very neat and tidy, really well organized and controlled…as if actually staged so the photographer’s should easily get their pictures from the best angles and its best possible light-conditions. Just study this image here, and you will start to have your mind and understanding opened, and learn how this all was a ‘staged’ or ‘rigged’ narrative!

  • THE MEETING WAS PRE-ARRANGED, NOT IMPROVISED

What do I mean by that?

I mean that – as opposed to the Bible, like for instance in Acts – the minister, in this example William Branham, performed in a service arranged by a church or congregation, to specifically come and get sick people miraculously healed. You know, “Branham is in town, come and get healed” ….my spontaneous idea of how these things were done back then. And it really was just like that. Go check for yourself. The congregations inviting these ‘Faith healers’, centered the entire campaign on one singular preacher, the ‘miracle man of God’. Whether it was Oral Roberts, William Branham or T.L. Osborn. This is how they do it up to this very day!

But in the Bible, particularly the Book of Acts there exist no such thing. Not one single miracle was done by the Apostles in any ‘pre-arranged’ campaigns. Not one!

They did not work with such worldly methods as Christianity does in our time.

They healed people led by the power of the Holy Spirit. They did not plan and arranged one singular meeting to heal the sick. Not one.

The early apostles kept gathering under the Portico of Solomon, in the temple site, says Acts 5:12. As do Luke 24:52, 53. And they just preached to whoever was coming by.

No particular campaigns like we foolish Christians work in our time. It’s not foolish to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but it is foolish to lie to the people…saying you are apostles and prophets and have the gifts of miracles and healing.

These things cannot be found with anyone other than the apostles of Christ: Peter and the eleven, plus finally the thirteenth one, Paul – nine years later than Acts 2 and Pentecost, in 37 CE. There exist no proof of God passing down these power gifts of the Holy Spirit through history, to new generations of chosen apostles and prophets. It all stopped abruptly after Acts 28:28-31 – eventually at the latest when the Romans burnt the temple and crushed Israel in 70 CE.

To gather believers, the sick ones, and the casual audiences into a place, to come and see sick people get healed, is unknown to Acts. We can already ‘smell a rat’ by this.

All miracles described in Acts were un-prepared what regards the apostles in question. It was given to them spontaneously by the Holy Spirit, then-and-there…as they met sick people on their way, and the sick (and demon possessed) were all completely and divinely healed by God!

Acts 5:12-16, NASB, is an excellent display as to how the Holy Spirit chose to operate in the Lord’s apostles back in the day, entirely spontaneously and right up front with the sick and crippled people begging for God’s help,

“12 At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's portico.

13 But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem.

14 And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number,

15 to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them.

16 Also the people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.

This also gives us a clear clue as to how to understand the character and mindset of the Holy Spirit: He was operating freely, all by His initiative and never by human ideas or wishes.

Paul taught the following on this issue, 1 Cor. 12:11, NASB,

“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.”

Just as He wills….and WHEN He wills, I add, because that is what we see when reading Acts. It did not happen ‘out of the thin blue air’ – it happened in the moment the Holy Spirit found it right to make a move.

This also meant that none of the apostles could ever ‘tell the Spirit’ when to do something, and what He should do. Peter and Paul could never perform healings just on their own wishes. In other words: that is also why we cannot find any healing miracles performed in any pre-arranged setting in the entire New Testament.

The image used here of an auditorium where William Branham supposedly went to heal these sick people, is already proven to have been a fake set-up. It is entirely contradictory to the Bible in every manner. In this set-up it seem to be man commanding God to meet up at the planned campaign…and not the Spirit to tell the ‘apostle’ to come and heal the sick by His inspiration.

Oh – and by the way: in Acts we cannot find that anyone among the regular members in the assembly could or would perform miracles, inspired so by the Holy Spirit. We only find that He inspired the twelve, plus Stephen and Philip – the two deacons. And later, Paul was given the same.

And we have to watch the foolish hoax of today’s self-made ‘apostles’, as they try to copy the real Holy Spirit…and to ‘heal the sick’. Can it get more foolish than this? Healing the sick, without any genuine apostle of God present…you have got to be kidding me!!

  • PHOTO SHOWS THE SICK UP FRONT, BUT WHERE ARE      THOSE WHO GOT HEALED?

Picking up on verse 16 of Acts 5 above: they were ALL healed…will really get a new meaning when asking this.

Where are all the healed people? Why did not the photographer deliver photos of ALL those who got healed by William Branham?  Why not taking pictures as they ALL were raised up from their stretchers, and wheel chairs? Did he just take that one image, and went out of the auditorium as he found the task completed? Or was it perhaps because he found that only one sick was healed, but all the others remained ill?

My word on this whole thing is …no one got healed in that campaign. There was no genuine apostle of God present in that campaign. In Acts, it took at least one apostle (but they were twelve…) to perform miracles by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit, if still these miracle-gifts were in operation, would not be doing anything unless He could use one of the chosen original apostles of Christ, for instance Peter, or James or John. And of course, Paul later on.

The lack of real close up photos of each miracle taking place, tells its own exposing story: it is because nobody got healed. There was nothing more to photograph.

Likewise the photo here of T.L. Osborn and a selection of crutches: from where did all the crutches come??? Why no photo of the healed users of those crutches???

This is my book cover (in Norwegian) exposing Osborn’s fraud, which I published years ago.

The whole set-up with pre-arrangement, plus photo of a couple rows of sick people, but NO photo of all of these sick getting healed, was a real blunder done by this congregation then. Amateurs and clumsy ignorant fraud makers I would call them. Same frauds then as the ones we find in our time, - they lie but have no brains to cover up their clumsy lies…just as I am pointing to by the use of these photos.

Have you heard of the fake-healer John G. Lake (1870–1935)?

He was a prominent Canadian-American leader in the early Pentecostal movement, widely known as a faith healer and missionary. He is particularly famous for his "Healing Rooms" ministries, which reported over 100,000 healings in Spokane, Washington, in the early 20th century. Talk about pre-arranged set-ups. He had several rooms in the big house, in which he took in sick people and systematically prayed for to get them healed. Lake believed he was a new Elijah and able to rise the dead and cure all illnesses. But you see, the Holy Spirit cannot be put in a box, and follow orders from a confused Pentecostal dreamer and fake-healer. Lake started the Healing Room Ministry in Spokane in 1915 after returning from South Africa. He and his staff claimed to have healed hundred thousands of sick believers, within a space of 6 years. But no photographic proof exists or any attestation from authorized physicians, whatsoever. It all was one huge hoax and fraud. The Holy Spirit made no healings in that ‘healing center’ in Spokane, WA, directed by confused Christians who thought they were apostles and prophets. The Holy Spirit does not EVER support men lying as they portrays themselves as God’s apostles! John G. Lake was actually called “God’s Apostle to Africa”. His followers in our time have set up a web site called Healingrooms.com, and it refers to all of Lake’s heretic teaching from the Bible on miracles and healings. Lake had fallen for the false lies propagated in Azusa Street revival in L.A. 1906-1913, on ‘God having sent a new Pentecost Acts 2’ with tongues and healings and signs.

Proof have been found by researchers/investigators (regarding faith healers in several separate cases) that in auditoriums attached to large hotels, the hotels have a service for their guests as they offer them free use of wheel chairs and walkers, to make their stay as pleasant as possible. Thus they do not have to haul their private chairs around in the hotel’s hallways, elevators and the likes. The hotel has taken care of that.

Fake-healers have thus taken the opportunity this has offered them, to make elderly and obviously weak persons use such free wheel chairs, and rolled them in to the auditorium. Thus regular visitors to the campaigns see all these people sitting in wheel chairs. Thinking they are incapable of walking, eventually lame. They assure themselves that there are no real sick and lame users being rolled in to the auditorium. Smart, but yet very stupid. Thus they lie not just to the audience, but to the Lord. They make swindling their lifestyle, and yet dare call themselves for evangelists or ‘servants of God’ and so forth.

And as the fake-healers have these people up front when ‘praying for the sick’ – they grab hold of them, and help them to stand up from the wheel chair; which they do, since they are fully capable and well enough to walk. The ‘healer’ is careful not to let his victim come to his own words and story, and so he make the audience believe that he raised a lame person from the wheel chair. Praise God, a miracle!!

In the campaign with Branham seen in the photo here above, the fraudulent ways of fake-healers was not yet as advanced as it became later on in history.

They eventually saw the weaknesses by such photos: showing sick people in wheel chairs, but not showing anyone healed. So this method of miracle swindle fell out of use. They were too easy to expose!

  • WHEN THERE IS FOUND ONLY WHEEL CHAIRS AND CRUTCHES – EVENTUALLY LEFT IN THE AUDITORIUMS – WHAT DOES THIS PROVE?

I’ll tell you what: it proves only that someone ‘parked’ these wheel chairs there and left some crutches. It does not prove that these things had been left there by people who had been healed miraculously.

Actually, having photos of all the sick in front near the podium, and from the very same meeting/service having NO PHOTOS OF SICK AS THEY ARE HEALED, testifies to the whole thing as sheer fraud and a false minister operating as an ‘apostle’.

This took place in many ‘Healing Campaigns’ in USA in the 1950-ies, sixties and seventies…and up till this very day (June 2026) continues to go on and on. I have checked on the net. Photos are manipulated from video-shots and ‘doctored’ to try to show a ‘miracle’ happening. But it is all a fake. The poor nation is strewn with all sorts of heretic preachers, teachers and healers who think they are apostles. It’s a Zoo out there…one ministry crazier than the other. Some of this sort of healing- and miracle madness have also managed to contaminate Norwegian preachers and pastors. The Pentecostal movement was established also here, back in the day. They still believe that God sent a new Pentecost in Azusa Street revival in 1906. Many of the Norwegian preachers go to USA as pilgrims, to check out the latest kick’ in the ‘faith-healer’ market, and whom to eventually invite here for healing-campaigns. This has been going on for decades. But yet there are no miracles to be viewed and attested anywhere near these campaigns. Heaven is entirely silent regarding miracles!

John G. Lake died after suffering a serious stroke in 1935. The Canadian-American faith healer passed away on September 16, 1935, at the age of 65. No one in the ‘Healing Room Ministry’ could get him healed, he who boldly (but in total error) claimed to have gotten a hundred thousand sick people healed. Why wouldn’t then God simply heal the prominent ‘apostle’ and have the ‘healer’ continue this ministry yet a decade or two? Here you see a photo of him, sitting in his car which has a huge poster-advertisement on its roof. Saying ‘Miracle healing power’ – and the address for that ‘Healing Room’ house in Spokane, WA.

I know why this was so: God quit the miracle signs, and the latest date for this was 70 CE, as the Roman army on God’s initiative burnt the temple and destroyed Jerusalem.

But it also is likely that this end of miracles and sign gifts were stopped as Paul got refused by the Sanhedrin counsel at Rome, Acts 28:25-31. Paul’s final words to Israel as a nation was, "Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen." (v. 28). This because the Gospel had only been preached to Israel and proselytes in the Acts-era.

Israel fell spiritually from God that day, in spring 60 CE as Paul met with Sanhedrin. But God let them have 10 years margin to regret their wrong actions, all in vain. It went like Jesus prophesied in Mat. 22:7, .…and the king got infuriated and He sent his soldiers and killed those murderers, and burnt their city. Jesus told them in advance of the destruction in 70 CE to come upon them, because they persecuted the king’s servants and killed them. These were the apostles.

WHY DO WE ALWAYS FIND PHOTOS OF

REGULAR SICK PEOPLE IN CAMPAIGNS,

BUT NEVER SEE PHOTOS OF DEMON POSSESSED?

Recently I published an article called “What of Demons in Our Time?” You can find it here in my web site.

I wanted just to tell you that demon possessed people are nowhere to be found in our time! These entities were allowed by God to appear in the days of Jesus and His apostles….so God through such grave incidents could demonstrate His divine power to set people free of these horrors.

After the end of Acts (60-62 CE) there is no demon possession anywhere. God had shut the door for these things entirely when Israel fell from God in Acts 28:25-28, as Paul confronted Sanhedrin in Rome. There was no need of any miracles, healings, tongues, casting out of demons, etcetera – for those signs were given for Israel only. It was the stone-hearted Jews who needed evidence of God’s presence as the apostles ministered to the nation. After they fell away, God no longer allows for demons to appear in possessed people.  Read my article, and you will have a better understanding of these things.

No wonder that Pentecostal Faith-healers cannot step up and do genuine exorcism setting demon possessed free: they are gone…we cannot find any of these demons like we do see in Acts, not even if we used the Hubble Space Telescope looking for them!!

And yet, foolish and uneducated Faith-healers go quoting Mark 16:17, 18

17  "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;

18  they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Knowing that these sign gifts were suspended Post-Acts, as the apostles died in the first century, - the absence of demon-possessed is a sure clue which proves this Bible truth. Had the commission given to the apostles been valid in our time, then we would also see and experience these demon-possessed ones. There is no absence of sick people, so these are used cynically by the lying hordes of Faith-healers – as they make false healing-promises to them, saying that God will heal them, if they support the Faith-healer’s ministry. It has become big business, sorry to say.

C O N C L U S I O N

Miracles, signs, healings, casting out of demons, speaking in tongues and other Holy Spirit manifestations seen in the New Testament, ceased entirely when the apostles died in the first century.

The Azusa Street revival in 1906-1913 in L.A. was not a reprisal of Acts 2 and the Pentecost events, like tongues and signs. The Pentecostal Assemblies of God, fully admits that the miracles, tongues, etcetera – all was absent for about 1870 years, but finally came back as the Azusa revival happened in 1906 and on. This return-of-the-Pentecost is pure human fiction, and no proof found in the New Testament. The absence of the Holy Spirit gifts is a Bible truth. But the ‘return’ of these things is a blatant lie and a fiction.

The audience at Pentecost Acts 2, was the population in Jewry in the Roman provinces, together with the inhabitants of the land, and Gentiles were prohibited to enter the temple site. Acts 2:5 is listing at least 13-14 different nationalities present, all visitors from the Roman provinces due to the Passover and Pentecost celebrations.

Peter addressed only Jewish people present in his speech, and he also did that in Acts 3. Acts 10 proves that Peter (and so also the eleven) had not any fellowship with Gentiles at all. They were considered as unclean, and so Peter proves that Gentiles were not the audiences the twelve were sent to, but Israel only! Peter was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, John 21; tend My lambs, shepherd My sheep, tend My sheep. Jesus bade him…not to go to Gentiles, but to Israel. And so he did!

Christianity – and in particular the fractions of Pentecostals and Charismatics – are totally confused and think that it was the establishing of the Church which took place at Pentecost Acts 2. But it was only the Messianic Israel at Pentecost which was seeing and experiencing the fulfillment of certain prophesies, regarding the coming of Israel’s Messiah King, Jesus Christ.

The church did not emerge before Paul had his revelation of the mystery, mentioned in Eph. 3:1-9. The church was established Post Acts! 63-67 CE.

Only the Messianic believers in Acts-era had been given the miracle-gifts, and the church has none of these.

What we have, is the glorious heavenly calling by the free Grace Gospel of Paul, according to the revelation of the mystery, the dispensation of the Grace of God for us Gentiles.
