EZEKIEL 36 AND JUDGEMENT:

Has the Prophecy in Ez. 36:23 Yet

Been Fulfilled in History?

JAN LILLEBY

Yet another repetition of a topic I have published earlier.

Has Ezekiel 36 and the Lord’s vindication of His Holy Name already been fulfilled in history?

In my earlier articles in the subject I have told by exact Bible quotations that this prophecy is futuristic, and shall be happening as part of the Great Tribulation in Israel, equal to Daniel’s 70th week.

Also explained by Jesus in Mat. 24:21, He based His speech on Jer. 30:7 regarding ‘The time of Jacobs trouble’. And Jesus also mention (indirectly) the same trouble as He spoke in the synagogue in Nazareth, quoting from Isaiah 61:2 – the first half “To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD” – but leaving out the last half, “and the day of vengeance of our God”. The audience present knew very well this last half! The day of vengeance is the Great Tribulation, as the Lord shall punish them for their ungodliness and blasphemies.

Israel shall be purged, tested, punished and re-established as a nation for God and Christ! Thus He shall create a NEW Israel, very unlike the present one. They shall all believe on Jesus, and He shall be present among them and rule from Zion as their king, Is. 2.

Ezekiel 36:19-23, NASB, tells of the coming vindication/vengeance of the Lord’s Name, because Jewry in the dispersion since 70 CE, has been blaspheming the name of Jesus Christ,

19 "Also I scattered them among the nations and they were dispersed throughout the lands. According to their ways and their deeds I judged them.

20 "When they came to the nations where  they went, they profaned My holy name, because it was said of them, 'These are the people of the LORD; yet they have come out of His land.'

21 "But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations where  they went.

22 "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where  you went.

23 "I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD," declares the Lord GOD, "when I prove Myself holy among you in their sight.

(My emphasize)

When God had the king of Babylon destroy Jerusalem and taking captives (Daniel among others), the Jews …or as Ezekiel wrote: The house of Israel, were dispersed but to ONE SINGLE NATION and not “among the nations” as found in the verses above.

Ezekiel did not think of or prophesied of the Jews as they were held captive, in Babylon, or in the following demise of the kingdom when Darius took them and created the Medio-Persian state. This demise was brought on Babylon because of the evil son of Nebuchadnezzar for his disrespect before God. Thus we find the story of “The Writing on the Wall” Dan. 5:5-12. The famous painter Rembrandt painted the scene…you can find it at the National Gallery in London I think. We see Belshazzar taken with unspeakable fear as the writing appears right before him at the wall.  However, whether before or after this move of God, Ezekiel 36:19-23 mentions Israel as a nation dispersed AMONG THE NATIONS (plural tense)…as if it happened in just one singular move. Like we see when Rome destroyed them in 70 CE, as General Titus broke the walls of Jerusalem.

Historically only the destruction of Israel in 70 CE fits the narrative held forth by Ezekiel 36:23 – for it is proven through the centuries past, that the dispersed Jews anywhere they do disregard and blasphemes the name of Jesus Christ. Their children are encouraged to spit upon church doors and the cross!

In particular we find that the Christian Zionists are those who hold to Ezekiel 36:23 as they were captive in Babylon. This so they can falsely say that Israel is now under God’s blessing since they have the land in their possession, officially from 1948 and the UN-treaty. But we cannot find any particular blaspheming during this time…on the contrary: The king was favoring the Jews, in that he kept four young male Jews as his near counselors. Daniel, the Jew, being the leader among them. The king elevated the Jew Daniel into a very high position in his government. You find it in Daniel’s book. Neither the nation of Babylon, nor any neighboring nation, had any incidents of ‘Blaspheming Jews’ among them. Ezekiel’s prophecy was regarding the end times and the Great Tribulation.

REVELATION GIVES US BLASPHEMING JEWS

Several places in Revelation, as God will let terror and judgement fall upon Israel, their response for God’s punishments comes in the blatant form of sheer BLASPHEMY!

This is also in line with their Talmud scriptures, in which we find Jesus as a son of Mary with a Roman Centurion! And so they say Jesus is now ‘boiling in hot excrement’. He is portrayed as a false wizard and soothsayer in their infamous book, the Babylonian Talmud. It was issued in book-form in 500 CE.

Here are some verses from Revelation telling of Jewry’s future blaspheming of Jesus’ name and of Jehovah:

Rev. 16:8-11, NASB, (during the Bowls of Wrath) -

“8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire.

9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.

10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain,

11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.

(My emphasize)

Notice: Verse 9 says “the NAME of God” – compared to Ez. 36:23 “My great NAME – which have been profaned among the nations”, and “Declares the Lord God”.

In the four historic Gospels, Jesus is called by the disciples for “The Lord” – in the sense of Him being God in human flesh, the Son of the Almighty God.

It is obvious to us all that Ez. 36:23 tells of Jesus’ name having been profaned among the nations, especially after 70 CE as we find Israel’s Jews dispersed around the civilized world. Ezekiel did not know that the holy name of God the Lord was to be Jesus!  He was not revealed to Israel before He grew up as an adult man in Nazareth. Thus we can lawfully insert the NAME of Jesus in Ez. 36:23….since it is He Ezekiel prophesied of.

Jesus NAME is so holy before God, that He sent His chief angel Gabriel to tell Maria of it, as we read Luke 1:31. He didn’t want any regular sinner/human being utter this holy NAME as the first time it should be told on earth. Only Gabriel was worthy of such a ministry, to announce Him, the mighty Son of God, Jesus Christ.

And thus God, the Father of Jesus Christ shall send the Great Tribulation upon them in the end time, to vindicate His holy NAME.

WE CANNOT FIND ANYTHING OF SUCH ACTION

OF GOD IN HISTORY SINCE 70 CE

It leaves us only one alternative for understanding Ez. 36:23, and that is the Biblical truth of Israel being punished by Christ as the tribulation falls upon them in the near future. They are still committing the grave sin against Jesus, for they still keep blaspheming Him, worldwide. They have not yet been punished for such a sin, simply because this long lasting sin appeared right after the destruction in 70 CE. And they will blaspheme Him also several times during the time of vindication, which is in the Great Tribulation.

This utter blasphemy reached a ‘peak’ in 1988 as Martin Scorsese (an American Jew) made the infamous Hollywood movie “The Last Temptation of Christ”, which made a scandal and insulted and offended the entire Christianity. It made the headlines for being one huge crappy blasphemy of Jesus, as He was portrayed as a ‘religious maniac and sorcerer’ – to use some of the vocabulary from the rage it created.

As we all understand, blasphemy is nothing new in Jewry. It has been going on for centuries, I assure you!

The Christian Zionists in the world hate to learn of such truth, since they all adore this ungodly blaspheming nation, illegally created by the means of political trickery and manipulations.
