Ofte lærer en, ved et slikt arbeid som jeg driver, at en nesten aldri kan få verken sagt nok i en sak, eller sagt det bra nok i en sak. Man kan lett bli over-kritisk til ens egne arbeider og skriverier.
Så jeg ønsket, i allfall vedrørende det jeg har skrevet om den såkalte ‘Misjons-befalingen’, å få rundet det enda litt mere av. Prøve å knytte sammen en del eventuelle (for noen kan det virke slik) løse tråder.
De fire evangeliene, siden de er skrevet etter at
Paulus lærte ut det nye frie nåde evangeliet: Hvorfor
nevner ikke disse Paulus i det hele tatt?
Her blir jeg fristet til å utvide spørsmålsrekken. Hvorfor nevner ikke de fire noe om det ødelagte og oppløste Israel, der hundretusener var blitt drept, tempelet nedbrent og lagt flatt mot jorden, og Jerusalem sterkt nedrevet og herjet av romerne?
Hvorfor nevner ikke de fire noe om apostlene fra og med pinsedag og Åndens komme over disiplene? Markus peker i 16, 20 på at apostlene hadde adlydt Jesus og gått ut og forkynt og hatt mirakeltegnene med seg. Lukas i 24, 49 påpeker at Jesus bød dem å bli i byen (Jerusalem) ‘..til dere blir ikledt kraft fra det høye.’ Og i Johannes 21, 25 ender han uten å ha nevnt noe annet enn at Jesus bød Peter å vokte Herrens får, og at det Jesus hadde gjort i tiden hos dem var så omfattende at ikke hele verden ville rommet de bøker som da måtte skrives. Men som kjent, Lukas nevnte Åndens komme i sin bok om apostlenes virksomhet fra og med Pinsedag år 32 e. Kr.
Ja – jeg kunne sikkert koke sammen en rekke stikkende plagsomme spørsmål.
Men det synes for meg veldig tydelig at de hadde bestemt seg for kun å konsentrere seg om Jesu liv og person. En slags jordisk biografi om en som kom fra himmelen til jord, og deretter reiste hjem igjen til himmelen.
Bibelgranskere i historien, har samme hovedkonklusjon om de fire evangelier samt om Apostelgjerningene: Disse skrivene er ene og alene å regne som historisk materiale. De er aldri tiltenkt å være noen universell troslære.
Dette illustreres enkelt ved at vi finner jo at Lukas først reiste i følge med Peter og de elleve (Apg. 1-12) – for deretter 11-12 år etter Pinsedag i Apg. 2, og bare ferdes sammen med Paulus og hans medarbeidere (Apg. 13).
Lukas, som visste helt hundre prosent hva Paulus lærte og talte, dag for dag i flere år, fikk seg allikevel ikke til å nevne ham i sitt evangelie-skrift. Men han blir da mer fyllestgjort og poengtert ved skrivingen av Apostelgjerningene.
Da Lukas visste om Paulus, så er det sannsynliggjort at de tre andre forfatterne også gjorde det. Både det Paulus opplevde på Damaskusveien da Jesus talte til ham i et syn, hans mange dramatiske misjonsreiser, osv. Det er utenkelig at ikke de fire evangelie-skriverne skulle være kjent med Paulus og hans virksomhet og lære: Han ble jo av Ananias II, sammen med Tertullus, anklaget i påsyn av den romerske guvernøren Feliks, for å være oppvigler og en leder av nasareernes sekt, som de kalte den jødiske messianske menighet den gang. (Apg. 24, 1-5).
Men, altså, de må alle regnes unnskyldt for ikke å nevne Paulus, til tross for at alle hadde hørt om ham.
De konsentrerte seg bevisst om å ta fram alt det Jesus gjorde og sa om og til Israel. Men de øvrige apostler blir selvsagt nevnt i evangeliene, for de var jo sammen med Jesus fra starten.
De fire evangelier taler eksklusivt om Jesus og
hva han sa og gjorde overfor Israel, nettopp fordi de
visste om hva Paulus allerede hadde etablert av troslære.
De unngikk å berøre – eller ‘dulte borti’ Paulus’ nye frie nåde-lære, der hele verden nå var blitt åpnet for evangeliet, og Israel nå falt bort fra Gud som nasjon. Selv når de siterte hva Jesus sa til Israels barn i landet, så tiltenkte de ikke Jesu ord til Israel å skulle bli brukt imot hva Paulus nå hadde lært fram fritt i hele verden. De skilte altså på hva Herren talte til Israel og hva Paulus talte/skrev til verden, både jøder og hedninger samlet sett.
De så at Paulus, på sin side, ikke la noe vesentlig ut i skrift om alle de detaljer som gjaldt Jesu liv, hans kamp mot fariseerne og andre ting. Paulus tar i hovedsak fram Jesus i sine skrifter og viser ham for leserne som en som er herliggjort i himmelen og sitter i makt og ære ved Faderens høyre hånd. Paulus uttrykte anger og bot i de tilfeller han nevner at han som ung dessverre var en forfølger av Jesu tilhengere. Men Paulus går ikke inn i noen biografisk historikk om Jesus på jord.
Jesus seiret over Satan og maktene – på korset, ja – men veien opp til korset blir ikke beskrevet av Paulus, men av de fire.
De fire synes å være bevisst på at de IKKE skrev noen tros-lære, ikke engang når de siterer hva Jesus lærte til sine jødiske tilhengere, for eksempel Bergprekenen, lignelsene og hans advarende framtidsprofetier.
De var fullt klar over at Jesus ikke talte til hele verden, men bare til Israel. De visste at Jesus var sendt fra Gud BARE til å lære Israel.
Paulus i Rom. 15, 8 illustrerer dette godt:
«Kristus er blitt en tjener for de omskårne (Israel) for Guds sannferdighets skyld, for å stadfeste løftene til fedrene.»
De fire evangelier korrigerer intet av hva Paulus
lærte fram, verken fra tiden da han talte om Kongeriket
i et framtidig Jerusalem, eller tiden etter Israels fall, da han kom med
det frie nåde evangeliet for hele verden.
De fire viser ved sin omgåelse av hele Paulus sin person og gjøren og laden, at de ikke skrev evangeliene for å ha noe å sette imot Paulus sin frie nådelære.
Som jøder kunne de jo lett ha blitt forarget ved å lese i Ef. 2, 14-15 der Paulus plutselig erklærer at Mose lov er nå avskaffet, inkludert bud og forskrifter!
Markus (samme Johannes Markus som var med Paulus og Barnabas på den første reisen) – skrev jo hva Jesus sa, i kap. 16, 17-18:
«Og disse tegn skal følge dem som tror: I mitt navn skal de drive ut onde ånder. De skal tale med tunger. De skal ta slanger i hendene, og om de drikker dødelig gift, skal det ikke skade dem. På syke skal de legge sine hender og de skal bli helbredet.»
Markus visste om hva Paulus – flere år før han skrev sitt Markus-evangelium – hadde lært fram i hele kristenheten. Blant annet at mirakler/nådegaver i utgangspunktet var begrenset, og deretter at de en dag også skulle opphøre.
1Kor. 12, 29-30: Er vel alle apostler? Er vel alle profeter? Er vel alle lærere? Gjør vel alle kraftige gjerninger? Har vel alle nådegaver til å helbrede? Taler vel alle med tunger? Kan vel alle tyde dem?»
Vel og merke, Paulus lærte fram dette til tross for at det ennå var slik at mirakler og tegn var gyldig, sett fra Guds side. Det var omkring år 54 e. Kr. at Korinterbrevene ble skrevet, og Israel hadde ennå ikke falt fra Gud som nasjon. Dermed var ennå apostlene i gang med å tilby Israel Kongeriket og Den nye Pakt. 1 Kor. 13, 8 peker fram til at mirakel-gavene en dag der fremme skulle forsvinne:
«Kjærligheten faller aldri bort. Men om det er profetiske gaver, da skal de få ende, eller det er tunger, skal de opphøre, eller det er kunnskap (som nådegave), skal den ta slutt.»
Markus har mest sannsynlig visst om det som Paulus lærte i menighetene. Så det er ikke for å gå imot Paulus at han skrev om tegn, under og mirakler. Nei, han bare pekte på hva Jesus ba sine disipler å gjøre – idet de den gang for mange år siden (nær 50-52 år!) skulle ut og forkynne Kongeriket for Israel. Markus må ha vært rett oppunder 80 år gammel da han skrev sitt evangelium. Israel var knust, tempelet nedrevet, de messianske jødene spredt over alt. Paulus var sannsynligvis død, men vi vet ikke sikkert. Likeså Peter og de fleste av apostlene.
Og Markus avsluttet derfor sitt historie-skriv ved å peke på alt det de hadde utført – for over femti år siden – og avsluttet da Israel falt fra Gud:
«Men de gikk ut og forkynte over alt. Og Herren virket med og stadfestet Ordet ved de tegn som fulgte med.» (V. 20).
Tegnene ble avsluttet da Paulus var i Rom år 62 e. Kr., da Israel ble regnet for å ha falt fra Gud som nasjon. Ikke ett eneste ord verken hos Markus, eller hos de andre tre, om at eventuelt nye apostler hadde videreført forkynnelsen, eller nye profeter hadde kommet til i kjølvannet av de store bibel-personlighetene. Forkynnelsen og nådegavene fulgte dem ned i graven, for det var bare disse som hadde fått oppdraget av Jesus, og ingen andre. Bare Paulus’ forkynnelse av den frie nåde-frelsen i Efeserbrevet og Kolosserbrevet har gyldighet som troslære i vår tid, - ja helt siden apostelen skrev dette i år 62 e. Kr. – da Israel var falt fra Gud.
Allikevel skal vi kristne i vår tid, fra tid til annen måtte utholde all slags læregalskap – for eksempel noe jeg hørte en gang blant ivrige pinsekarismatikere: Nå skriver vi kristne på Apostelgjerningene det 29. kapittel! Tegn, under, mirakler, demonutdrivelser, tunger, profetier og helbredelser. Vi skal gå ut og tømme sykehusene for syke, og bevise at Jesus lever!
Dessverre ble det nok ikke slik som disse overivrige og helt ulærte sjelene hadde ønsket seg, i all deres barnslighet. De fant også ut at Apg. 28 var definitivt det siste kapittel i historien om apostlene. Det var helt slutt.
Nei, kjære leser, evangelie-skriverne visste utmerket godt at det Paulus lærte fram var helt i tråd med hva Gud ville ha lært fram. De visste også – selvsagt – at Israel var falt fra Gud som nasjon og satt likt på nivå med enhver annen nasjon. De hadde ved å avvise Jesus som Messias, blitt avsatt fra sin høye stilling som hode for nasjonene, og var nå i unåde hos Gud som nasjon.
